Essential question: How do the technological innovations
of an era affect people’s lives?

Video: Your Place in the 20th Century introduces young people to selected technologies and events of the 20th century that influenced people's interactions with and responses to technology. Students will see and reflect on how "your place in time" is shaped by "new" technologies and associated achievements and events.

The exhibition Your Place in Time 20th Century America traces the history of everyday technology and how it influenced Americans during the 20th century. Visitors can walk through a series of vignettes representing generations in the 20th century and experience how different technologies and events shaped their daily lives. Eras represented include the Progressive Generation, 1900-1930; the War and Silent Generations, 1930s-1950's; Baby Boomers, 1960s-1970s; Generation X, 1970-1980s and today's youth of the 1990s and beyond.

CD ROM : Your Place in Time: 20th Century America introduces students to the five generations that came of age between 1900 and 2000. Through a variety of interactive activities, thee CD ROM uses the Henry Ford Museum exhibition “Your Place in Time” to trace the history of everyday technology and its effects on the lives of Americans. Highlights include:
